On Christmas Eve, the Dallas Cowboys pulled off a surprise 40-34 victory over their divisional rivals, the now 13-2 Philadelphia Eagles, thanks in part to two big plays made by new wide receiver T.Y. Hilton.
Hilton, who joined the Cowboys this season after spending the majority of his career with the Indianapolis Colts, was a key contributor in the win, recording a single reception for 52 yards to covert on 3rd & 30. He also forced a pass interference penalty on a fourth down play early in the second quarter that resulted in a touchdown.
Following the game, Hilton had a message for anyone who doubted his ability to still play at a high level in the NFL.
“I told y’all all week if you just go stand there and try to get in my face then you’re crazy, I’m gonna run past you and that’s exactly what happened. I can still play. If you don’t think I can play, then that’s on you. I can still get open. I don’t have to be fast. I can be slow. I can still get open. But I’m still fast. Double [CeeDee Lamb] and leave me, whatever you choose, you’re in trouble.”

Hilton’s words spoke to his confidence and determination on the field, as he proved that even at 33 years old, he can still be a dominant force in the NFL. His speed and ability to get open have always been key components of his game, and against the Eagles, he showed that he has lost none of his explosive play-making ability.
The Dallas Cowboys will certainly be looking to lean on T.Y. Hilton as they make a push for the playoffs, and if he continues to perform at this level, they will be a tough team to beat. Whether he is facing tight coverage or being double teamed, Hilton has proven that he has the skills and mindset to make game-changing plays. And that’s been in missing element in Dallas at times this season making the veteran receiver as more than welcomed addition.
