The Dallas Cowboys are set to kick-start their season this weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And they are doing so with a potentially less-talented overall roster than the one they had in 2021 after losing big names like defensive end Randy Gregory, right tackle La’el Collins, and wide receiver Amari Cooper this offseason.
But what isn’t considered in that evaluation is the development of young talent. While Dallas may have lost some big names, they’ve also been developing talent behind the scenes. And now it’s time for some of those players to step up. Some examples include defensive linemen Quinton Bohanna, Osa Odighizuwa, Chauncey Golston, wide receiver Simi Fehoko, safety Israel Mukuamu, and Micah Parsons. They are all entering their second season in Dallas and will likely be called upon to help fill in for those losses.
Combine the investment of developing players with the introduction of yet another draft class full of rookies the team will rely on heavily this upcoming season, and the Cowboys certainly hope the play of these younger players will help fans to forget about those losses.
